Something New Is Coming!

James Cattell

From James

"Once, as a traveller, I accidentally caught the wrong train. After a night winding through a mountainous region, we stopped in a country that I have not been able to find, but this is what I remember".

"These pieces developed from an interest in eggs and ancient automata and are related to the picture book ‘Albuman’s Quest’, which was published in 2001".

"They combine the skills I have developed from exploring a wide range of art forms over the years. Having left university as an installation sculptor, I have since reinvented myself as a painter, puppeteer, toy-maker, mosaicist, ceramicist, site specific sculptor, muralist, jewellery maker, writer and illustrator. Perhaps next, I will become a film-maker."
