Philip Stokes
From Philip
“Stimulated by the sculptural possibilities of human form and the organisation of musculature, I hope to create a dialogue between the viscous and sinuous qualities of the glass medium”.
About Philip
With a background in theatre, Philip Stokes found the handling of hot glass surprisingly similar to the stage; Spontaneity, improvisation and chance are all elements that he enjoys and exploits, both in the making and the final installation.
Philip Stokes completed a Bachelor of Applied Arts with Honours in 2000 from Monash University and was awarded the Pilchuck Partnership Scholarship in recognition of his outstanding work.
