History
During 1977,
Barbara Noble realised the need for
a city-based gallery to showcase the fine work of local artists and proceeded to successfully fill this market niche.
From the first ‘tiny’ gallery behind St Paul’s Cathedral, to the small, yet stylish Gallery at 85 Collins St, Makers Mark has always been situated amongst the elite traders of Melbourne’s shopping precinct.
In 1994 Makers Mark relocated to 101 Collins St, where we spent some magnificent years before creating a wonderful new gallery space and home at 464 Collins St, where we remain today. Makers Mark has continually proven to be the place to go for the most innovative, creative and sought after designs in Australia.
